West Fargo, N.D. – Northern State swimming concluded day three at the NSIC Swimming Championship with four top-15 finishes in the finals. NSU currently sits in seventh place with 144 points through 15 events.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 500 free, Delaney Ryken placed 14th with a time of 5:22.33, followed by Hannah Kiernan in 22nd in the 500 free with a time of 5:31.77
- In the 100 back, Maddie Gonzales placed tenth with a time of 58.35
- Mayson Sheldon placed ninth in the 100 breast recording time of 1:07.47
- Lauren Forsyth finishing the highest out of all NSU swimmers, placing fifth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.29
- Kenzi Matson placed 16th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:23.81, followed by Lexi Malimanek in 17th place with a time of 2:22.82
- In the 800 free relay, the team of Emma Murdock, Kiernan, Forsyth, and Ryken placed 13th with a combined time of 8:21.59

"We are student-athletes and we are proud of our scholar athletes that were honored tonight for their accomplishments in the classroom. Tonight we had a good mix of swims. We scored the most individual points of any session so far and are looking to get after it tomorrow morning."
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Swimming season bests in the 500 free were Ryken (5:22.33) and Kiernan (5:31.77)
- Gonzales recorded a season best in the 100 back with a time of 58.35 seconds
- Notching a season best in the 100 breast was Sheldon (1:07.47)
- Matson and Malimanek tallied season bests in the 200 fly with times of 2:23.81 and 2:22.81 respectively
- Both 800 free relay teams notched season best times of 8:21.59 (Murdock, Kiernan, Forsyth, and Ryken) and 8:37.82 (Matson, Malimanek, Sheldon, and Georgy Turner)

Northern State swimming kicks off the final day of the NSIC Swimming Championship tomorrow. The Wolves sit six points behind sixth place NSIC foe MSU Moorhead. The first race is set for 10 a.m. at the Hulbert Aquatic Center.
