Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State women's swim team dropped a 192-70 dual to Augustana. During the meet the Wolves posted one win in the 200 yard backstroke and nine top-3 finishes. The Wolves honored three seniors during the meet,
Marialuisa Avila,
Connor Doran, and
Emma Murdock.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State opened the dual with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Maddie Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Marialuisa Avila, and Haley Osborne ended with a time of 1:52.65
- Fanny Legros and Delaney Ryken led the way in the 1000 yard freestyle with third and fourth place finishes, hitting the wall in times of 11:20.24 and 11:35.31
- The Wolves were led by Osborne in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 2:00.59 and a fourth place finish
- Gonzales recorded a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, hitting the wall in 1:01.80
- The top NSU swimmer in the 100 yard breaststroke was Mayson Sheldon with a fourth place finish in 1:10.60
- Forsyth earned a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly, with a time of 2:16.45
- In the 50 yard freestyle Connor Doran was the highest placing Wolf in sixth place and a time of 25.90
- Northern State saw Haley Osborne, Connor Doran, and Brianna Back place second through fourth respectively in the 100 yard freestyle; Osborne led the way with a time of 55.55
- The lone NSU victory came in the 200 yard backstroke when Gonzales hit the wall in 2:11.33, she was followed by Mia Fursedonne in third with a time of 2:16.49
- Sheldon paced the Wolves in the 200 yard breaststroke, being the highest finisher at fifth in a time of 2:41.33
- Legros led Northern in the 500 yard freestyle, with a fourth place finish and time of 5:35.12
- Avila and Forsyth earned third and fourth place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly, and times of 1:00.93 and 1:01.84
- Hannah Kiernan notched a third place finish in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:56.84
- To close the meet the top Northern State relay team of Doran, Legros, Ryken, and Osborne recorded a fourth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:33.42
UP NEXT
The Northern State swim team will travel to Sioux Falls for their first invitational of the year on November 18-20. The first day of the Augustana Mid-Season Invite will have prelims start at 9:30 a.m. and finals start 5:30 p.m., on the final two days the prelims will start at 9:30 a.m. and followed by a 4:30 p.m. start for the finals.
