Wolves Set to do Battle in Dacotah Bank Classic

Aberdeen, SD – The Northern State Men's Basketball programs will host the 2021 Dacotah Bank Classic on November 26-27 in Wachs Arena. The Wolves tip-off against Midwestern State (TX) on Friday, November 26 at 8 pm and Presentation College on Saturday, November 27 at 7 pm.

#15 NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
» Northern State enters the week with a record of 4-2 on the season and have won their last three games 
» The Wolves went 2-0 last weekend in the East-West Challenge, defeating South Dakota Mines 78-55 and Black Hills State 92-90
» Northern begins NSIC play this week on Tuesday, November 23rd, with a game at MSU Moorhead at 7:30 p.m.
» As a team NSU is averaging 74.2 points, 32.8 rebounds, 14.8 assists, 13.2 turnovers, 7.2 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game » Northern State is shooting the ball 47.3 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from 3-point range, and 80.2 percent from the free throw line
» There are four Wolves averaging double figures in scoring, led by Jordan Belka with 15.8 points and Sam Masten 14.8 points per game
» In the Wolves win over Black Hills State, Masten recorded a career high 34 points on 13-17 shooting from the field, 4-4 from 3-point range,  and was 4-5 from the free throw line 
» Masten also added five rebounds, four assists, and four steals in the win over BHSU 
» Belka leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game, while Masten leads the team with 5.0 assists per game 
» Masten and Cole Bergan each average 1.8 steals per game while Belka adds 0.7 blocks per game 
 
MIDWESTERN STATE (TX) STORYLINES
» Midwestern State enters the week with a record of 2-1 on the season, and have won their last two games 
» Last weekend the Mustangs defeated Central Oklahoma 86-65 
» MSU is set to play at #3 West Texas A&M on Monday, November 22nd, with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off 
» Following a 11-8 (10-7 LSC) season in 2020-21, Midwestern State is picked to finish sixth place in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll
» Three returners for the Mustangs earned All-Conference honors a season ago, Luke Hamilton was second-team All-Lone Star Conference,  while Terrell Wilson and Jermane Carter both earned third-team All-Lone Star Conference honors 
» As a team MSU is averaging 80.3 points, 40.7 rebounds, 16.7 assists, 13.7 turnovers, 6.7 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game
» Midwestern State is shooting the ball 46.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from 3-point range, and 73.0 percent from the free throw line
» Through three games Terrell Wilson leads the four Mustang players averaging double figures in scoring with 13.7 points per game, while also  adding 4.0 assists per game

PRESENTATION COLLEGE STORYLINES
 
» Presentation enters this week with a record of 7-5 on the season, and have won six consecutive games (excluding a 99-62 exhibition loss at South Dakota State on November 18th) 
» Last weekend the Saints picked up wins against Faith Baptist Bible College 104-51, and Calvary Bible College 80-37
» This week PC is set to play at the University of South Dakota on Tuesday, November 23rd, starting a 7 p.m
» After a 4-23 (1-13 NSAA) season in 2020-21, Presentation was picked eighth in the North Star Athletic Association Preseason Coaches' Poll
» As a team the Saints are averaging 74.9 points, 35.9 rebounds, 9.9 assists, 11.8 turnovers, 7.1 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game
» PC is shooting the ball 45.0 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from 3-point range, and 68.1 percent from the free throw line
» Denzel McDuffey and Travez Nyx lead the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 and 10.4 points per game respectively
» McDuffery also leads the team with7.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, while Nyx averages a team high 2.3 assists per game
