Northern State Swimming Earns Seventh Place Finish at Augustana Mid-Season Meet

Sioux Falls, S.D. – Northern State swam to a seventh place finish at the Augustana Mid-Season Meet, ending with a total team score of 245 points. The Wolves finished fifth out of the seven competing NSIC teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northern State's first top-5 finish of the invite came in the 200 yard backstroke when Maddie Gonzales finished fourth with a time of 2:04.31
  • Haley Osborne was the top Northern swimmer in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.35
  • Competing in the B final of the 200 yard breaststroke, Fanny Legros claimed 20th place in the event with a time of 2:34.87
  • Mayson Sheldon swam in the C final of the 200 yard breaststroke and record 23rd place finish in the event, hitting the wall in a time of 2:31.26
  • Lauren Forsyth earned the Wolves second top-5 finish of the day with a fourth place finish in the 200 yard butterfly, recording a time of 2:09.52
  • In the 1650 yard freestyle, Fanny Legros swam to a 19th place finish in a time of 18:33.86
  • In the final event of the meet, the Northern State relay team of Delaney Ryken, Mia Fursedonne, Connor Doran, and Haley Osborne, recorded a 12th place finish in a time of 3:36.28

Northern State will return to action on January 14th and 15th, when they will take part in the Dragon Invite in Moorhead, Minnesota.
