Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team will compete in their final meet of the year 2021 when they take part in the Augustana Mid-Season Meet. The three day event will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls.

• The finals will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday and 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• Northern State enters this weekend's meet with a dual meet record of 2-4 on the season
• The Wolves last competed in a dual on November 5^th at home against Augustana, and fell to the Vikings by a score of 192-70
• Thursday will mark the first time this season that NSU has taken part in an invitational event
• Through five meets this season Northern has earned two relay victories, nine individual event victories, and 61 top-3 finishes
• Maddie Gonzales earned the lone event win for NSU against Augustana in the 200 yard backstroke, finishing with a season best time of 2:11.33
• Gonzales also recorded a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.80
• The Wolves captured second through fourth place finishes in the 100 yard freestyle against the Vikings, Haley Osborne was the top finisher with a time of 55.55
• The only other Northern State swimmer to finish top-2 was Lauren Forsyth in the 200 yard butterfly, where she placed second in 2:16.45

• There are 14 teams taking part in the women's competition: Augustana, South Dakota State, South Dakota, MSU Moorhead, Sioux Falls, Northern State, Jamestown, UMary, Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes, Concordia-St. Paul, College of St. Mary, Minnesota-Morris, and Southwest Minnesota State
