HOW IT HAPPENED
- Minnesota State scored the first goal of the game late in the first half as Tia Martin scored her first goal of the season off a short pass from Maille Mathis
- Northern's best scoring opportunity came in the 58th minute when the Wolves placed two shots-on-goal; Megan Fastenau fired the first shot towards the bottom right corner of the net and shortly after DeAnna LeMire forced the Maverick goalkeeper to make a leaping save to knock the ball out of play
- The Mavericks put the game out of reach in the 84th minute of play when Claire Carter gained control of a high pass from Olivia Thoen and sent the ball into the left corner of the net
- The MSU offense controlled the game as they out-shot NSU 12-6 and 7-4 in shots-on-goal, while also holding the 9-2 advantage in corner kicks
