Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State women's soccer team defeated Upper Iowa 1-0 on Friday evening. In the victory the Wolves recorded their fourth consecutive shutout, their longest streak of shutouts since 2008.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State's first scoring opportunity came in the sixth minute of play off a corner kick, when a header by Kelsey Selden was knocked down by the UIU goalkeeper
- Upper Iowa's best scoring opportunity of the game came in the 55th minute when Liv Wildeman's shot hit the top crossbar, the ball then deflected out-of-bounds off a NSU defender for a corner kick
- Megan Fastenau scored the lone goal of the game in the 58th minute, when she gained control of a deflected pass and fired her shot into the back left corner of the net
- The Wolves defense held strong once again in the 83rd minute, as Alexus Townsend made a diving deflection off a shot by Haley Ramberg and Zoe Boughton made the deflection on the second chance opportunity
- Northern State held the advantage offensively over the Peacocks 15-12 in shots, 7-6 in shots-on-goal, and 8-5 in corner kicks
