Wolves Improve to 4-1 from THE Spring Games with Win over Edinboro

Winter Haven, Fla. – The Northern State University softball team tallied their 15th win of the 2020 season on Friday afternoon, defeating Edinboro University by five runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Edinboro scored off a homerun in their first at-bats of the game, holding the Wolves at bay through the first two innings
  • Northern tied things up in the top of the third and went on to put up six runs in the top of the fourth
  • Kaitlyn King led off the inning with a single up the middle and came around to score on a double to right center by Emily Charchuk
  • Chanel Siebenthal and Charchuk scored on a sacrifice fly by Anne Jonas and single to left by Rachel Reinke, while Reinke came around to score on a single to right by Jen Martin
  • The final two Wolves to score in the inning were Sara Bendt and Martin on a single to right by Kennady Thompson
  • The Fighting Scots added one run in the bottom of the seventh
  • NSU scored their seven runs on 12 hits without an error on defense
  • Meghan Anderson improved to 10-1 on the year throwing a complete game with eight strikeouts
