Minneapolis, Minn. – The Northern State University baseball team opened the 2020 campaign with a pair of losses to St. Cloud State from US Bank Stadium.

GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams were scoreless through the first two frames, however St. Cloud State broke things open with two runs in the top of the third
- The Huskies tacked on another score in the fourth, before opening the flood gates with six runs in the seventh
- Northern tallied three hits in the loss and suffered two errors defensively
- John Werner recorded the loss for the Wolves in his first start of the season, giving up the first three runs of the game

GAME 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Similar to game one, the two teams held each other at bay in the opening innings
- The Huskies again scored first in the bottom of the fifth, however the Wolves answered back in the top of the eighth
- Connor Burgess tallied a 1-out double and came around to score on an error by the catcher
- St. Cloud regained the lead in the bottom of the frame with two runs and held Northern scoreless in the top of the ninth
- NSU tallied one run on five hits with one error
- Zach Hrvol started on the hill for the Wolves, throwing 5.0 innings and giving up one earned run on two hits with six strikeouts
- John Poldberg suffered the loss giving up the two runs in the bottom of the eighth

It will be a quick turnaround for the Wolves who travel to face Regis University this Friday through Sunday. Northern will face off against the Rangers at 1 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. on Sunday. All game times listed above are in central time.
