Minot, N.D. – The Northern State University softball team scored 18 runs in their two wins over UMary and Montana State Billings, remaining undefeated in 2020.

GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern scored early and often, notching at least one run in each of the six innings of play
- Rachel Reinke led off the game with a single and came around to score on a ground ball by Jen Martin in the first frame
- Madison Rutter added the second run of the game in the following inning, leading off with a triple and crossing home plate on a single by Chanel Siebenthal
- Kaitlyn King singled in Sara Bendt (double) and Julia Sullwold in the top of the third making in 4-0 in favor of the Wolves
- Martin tallied her second RBI of the contest in the fourth, plating Bendt on a double
- Natalie Gabbert belted her first homerun of the 2020 season in the top of the fifth, scoring Siebenthal who reached on a 2-out double
- Northern tacked on three more runs in the top of the sixth, securing the run rule victory despite two runs by the Marauders in the bottom of the inning
- In the sixth, Reinke scored on a sacrifice fly by Kennady Thompson, while Karley King plated Kaitlyn King and Sara Bendt who each reach base via a fielder's choice
- The Wolves tallied ten runs on 12 hits with one error defensively
- Meghan Anderson grabbed her third win of the season in the circle, notching six strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern struck first in the opening frame as Jen Martin singled in Rachel Reinke who led off the game with a single of her own
- Billings answered back in the top of the third, notching three runs on four hits
- The Wolves tied the game at 3-all in the bottom of the frame on a 2-run homerun by Martin
- NSU added another three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth securing the 5-run win over the Yellow Jackets
- Scoring for Northern in the fifth were Shayla Steinley, Jessi Hernandez, and Kaitlyn King
- Reinke and Steinley added the final two runs for the Wolves in the bottom of the sixth
- Andrea Cherney threw her first win of the season, entering for 2.1 innings of relief work
- Northern tallied eight runs on ten hits with one error on defense
