Minot, N.D. – The Northern State University softball team is off to the best start in program history, extending their win streak to eight games. The Wolves tallied two non-conference victories over Minnesota Crookston and Minot State Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Minnesota Crookston struck first notching one run in the top of the first
- The Wolves tied the game in the bottom of the third, as Chanel Siebenthal scored on a ground out by Rachel Reinke
- Kennady Thompson gave the Wolves a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, belting her third homerun of the season
- Emma Terveer scored on the long ball after entering the game as a pinch runner
- Reinke added the final run of game for the Wolves in the bottom of the fifth on a ground out by Sara Bendt
- UMC attempted a comeback in the sixth however the Wolves held them to one run
- Northern tallied four runs on five hits with one error on defense
- Meghan Anderson earned her fifth win of the season throwing a complete game

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves did not lay down in game two, coming from behind on three occasions
- The win is their first in extra innings this season
- NSU tallied one run in the first, three in the third, one in the fourth, seven in the fifth, one in the eighth, and two in the ninth
- Tied at 11 heading into the top of the ninth, Emily Charchuk stepped to the plate with Kaitlyn King in scoring position, per the international tie-breaker rule
- Charchuk advanced King to third and two at bats later Rachel Reinke homered for the second time this season
- Eight Wolves recorded hits in the game, with four notching multiple hit performances
- Northern cranked out 13 runs on 13 hits with three errors defensively
- Meghan Anderson tallied her second win of the day, throwing the final two innings of work
