Mitchell, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team tallied 33 top-5 finishes from Saturday's Alumni Open hosted by Dakota Wesleyan University. The Wolves added nine event victories between the men's and women's squads, while Tanner Berg continued to drop school and meet records in the weight throw.
 
Women
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Nicolette Kneeland and Jordan Menken finished in second and fifth in the weight throw with tosses of 16.13m and 14.55m respectively
• Menken went on to record a second place finish in the shot put, with a 13.59m toss
• Grace Elvert recorded a 1.41m jump in the high jump, taking fourth overall
• Kealy Hill won the pole vault with a personal record, clearing 3.77m, followed by teammate Jordyn Huneke with a 3.65m mark
• Isabel Kinzer crossed the finish line in fourth with a time of 9.77 in the 60m hurdles
• Livia Wallace led the way in the first distance event of the day, taking third in the mile with a time of 5:50.96
• Madison Barnes won the 400m dash, cross the line at 58.88 followed by Kinzer and Destiny Wenger in third and fifth with times of 1:00.21 and 1:03.51 respectively
• Jennifer Clark and Gracelynn Miller took home the top two spots in the 600m run, with times of 1:49.70 and 1:56.88
• Megan Mooberry, Sarah Schafer, and Jordyn Sterud tallied top-5 finishes in the 800m run with times of 2:37.33, 2:39.43, and 2:42.56 in second, fourth, and fifth place
• Mooberry went on to win the 3000m run with a time of 11:20.07, followed by Sterud at 11:37.69 in third
• Barnes added to her race victories in the 200m dash, finishing in 26.19
• Kinzer also tallied a top-5 finish in the 200m dash, taking third with a time of 27.01
• The 4x400m relay team of Miller, Schafer, Mary Franssen, and Clark took fourth overall with a time of 4:38.70

 
Men
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tanner Berg yet again broke his own school record with a 21.50m toss in the weight throw
• The event winning and meet record throw moves the junior up to first nationally in the event
• Berg added a fifth place finish in the shot put, tossing 14.31m
• Kelson Brewer, Bryce Malsam, and Zachary Burns finished second through fourth in the pole vault with marks of 4.40m, 4.25m, and 4.25m respectively
• Bryce Malsam won the 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.34
• Isaiha Fletcher added an event win in the 400m dash, crossing the line at 49.70, while Tafara Hondonga notched a fourth place finish with a time of 52.05
• Fletcher went on to place second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.45
• Devin Sheridan added a back-to-back win for the Wolves taking the 600m run with a time of 1:23.49
• Brewer added a fourth place finish in the 600m, crossing the finish line at 1:26.53
• Riccardo Done tallied a top-5 finish with a time of 2:02.08 in the 800m run
• The 4x400m relay team of Sheridan, Jared Tyrell, Caleb Schlekeway, and Malsam crossed the finish line in fourth with a time of 3:34.60
