Northern State Men's Basketball looks to pick up 2020 where they left off at Home

ABOUT THE NORTHERN STATE WOLVES

•      Northern State enters 2020 perfect at home sporting a 5-0 record and strong overall at 9-3

•      The Wolves had a perfect December at 5-0 winning two on the road at Minot and UMary

•      NSU is averaging 78 points per game as they come to the half way point of the season

•      The Wolves scoring defense is keeping opponents to an average of 68.5 points per game, ranking them 49th in the country

•      Northern State is shooting 49% from the field which is 45th in the country for field-goal percentage

•      The Wolves are only allowing opponents to shoot an average of 42% per game which ranks them 58th in the nation

•      NSU is 13th in the country in assist turnover ratio at 1.57, with a +2.0 turnover margin

ABOUT THE PEACOCKS

•      Upper Iowa enters the weekend 6-6 overall, 3-3 in NSIC play and 0-4 on the road

•      UIU is averaging 77.8 points per game this season

•      The Peacocks are shooting only 44.7% from the field and 37.2% from distance

•      Upper Iowa is letting opponents shoot 46.8% from the field and 40.1% from distance thus far

•      The Peacocks are allowing opponents to grab an average of 3.8 more rebounds per game

•      UIU is averaging 34.6 rebounds per game

•      Upper Iowa is forcing opponents to turn the ball over an average of 15.3 times per game, which is +2.9 times more than themselves

•      The Peacocks are led by Brooks Mckowen in this seventh season

 

LAST MEETING

• Northern State walked past the Peacocks last year in a 102-73 victory on the road

• NSU had five players score in double digits with Mason Stark (17 points), Gabe King (15 points), and Parker Fox (12 points)

• NSU is 18-3 all-time against UIU dating back to 2004-05 when The Wolves won the meeting 92-51

 

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS

• UMary enters the weekend 5-3 on the year and 1-2 in league play

• The Marauders have scored a total of 553 points thus far averaging 69.1 per game

• UMary as a team is shooting 42.0% on the court, 32.2% from 3-point distance, and 76.1% at the free-throw line

• The Marauders shot 39.2% on the floor last weekend against St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth

• UMary averaged 29.5 rebounds last weekend and only recording 19 assists

• Matthew Kreklow leads the Marauders in field goal percentage shooting 56.9% and in rebounds grabbing a total of 44 thus far this season averaging 7.3 per game

• Wyatt Carr is the man behind the arc for UMary with 22 three-point attempts he's making them 45.5% of the time

• The Marauders are led by second-year head coach Joe Kittell

 

LAST MEETING

• The took both meetings last year against the Marauders winning at home 76-59 and on the road 69-64

Gabe King scored 12 points shooting 35.7% from the floor

Parker Fox tallied ten points shooting 45.4% on the court

• The team shot 57.5% from the field and 46.2% beyond the arc in the first meeting of last year

• The second meeting of last year Gabe King was the top scorer for the Wolves with 19 points

Parker Fox scored 12 points shooting 50.0% from the field

• The Wolves are 28-13 all-time against the Marauders with the first meeting in 1959-60 where NSU flew by winning 99-62
