Des Moines, Iowa / Moorhead, Minn. – The Northern State track and field teams tallied a solid day from the Drake Relays and MSU Moorhead Ron Masanz Classic. Northern is just two weeks away from the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
 
MEN
HIGHLIGHTS

• Donovan Miller notched a time of 10:00.95 in the 3000m steeplechase finishing in second overall
• Jackson Harrison ran to a second place finish in the 5000m run with a time of 15:24.67
• Jacob Wiedrich tallied the first top-5 field finish for the Wolves clearing 4.20m (13-09.25) in the pole vault
• Austin Eppard added a third place finish of his own in the discus with a 47.98m (157-05) toss

• The 4x200m relay team of Kelson Brewer, Isaiha Fletcher, Devin Sheridan, and Itoitz Rodriguez notched a time of 1:29.77 in the top-20
• Jake Olson threw 47.89m (157-10) in the discus
• Tanner Berg continued to throw in the 60s, finishing eighth in the hammer with a 60.41m (198-20) toss

 
WOMEN
HIGHLIGHTS

• Livia Wallace and Paige Larson placed third and fourth in the 3000m steeplechase with times of 12:16.92 and 12:36.61
• In her first track competition of 2019, Hannah Kastigar tallied a fourth place finish in the 1500m run with a time of 4:55.36
• Kastigar went on to place third in the 800m run with a time of 2:24.19
• Rachel Guthmiller finished second in the javelin, throwing 37.01m (121-05)
• Kailee Oliverson added a fourth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.57m (5-01.75)

• The women's 4x200m relay team opened the day with a seventh place finish and new school record in the event; Madison Barnes, Emma Rezac, Isabel Kinzer, and Hanneke Oosterwegel notched a time of 1:40.92

 
BEYOND THE RESULTS

• For the second day in a row a school record fell, this time in the 4x200; the record was previously held by Toni-Ann Ingram, Elizabeth Raecke, Mackenzie Cruzen, and Hanneke Oosterwegel in 2017 with a time of 1:42.39

Dakota Hutzler, TJ Hochstetler, and Bryce Malsam will compete from the NSIC Multi events tomorrow and Monday in Aberdeen. Full team competition resumes next Friday and Saturday from the Howard Wood Dakota Relays.
