Track and field notches successful meet from Yankton

Yankton, S.D. – The Northern State track and field teams opened their busy week yesterday evening at the Mount Marty Twilight. The Wolves recorded 16 season best marks and 16 personal best marks from the meet, as well as nine event victories and 29 top-5 finishes.
 
MEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Trey Tiefenthaler and Jacob Lackas took second and fifth in the 100m dash with times of 10;94 and 11.32 respectively
  • Isaiha Fletcher won the 200m with a time of 21.95, followed by Jared Tyrrell and Devin Sheridan in third and fifth with times of 23.23 and 23.31
  • Adding to the race wins was Itoitz Rodriguez in the 400m with a time of 48.24
  • Fletcher and Sheridan also placed third and fourth in the 400m with times of 49.84 and 50.11
  • Lackas went on to grab a race victory in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.13
  • Kelson Brewer broke into the win column, taking the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.29
  • The 4x100m relay team of Jacob Lackas, Trey Tiefenthaler, Jared Tyrrell, and Itoitz Rodriguez placed second with a time of 43.15
  • Tiefenthaler added a third place finish in the long jump with a 6.31m (20-08.50) mark and won the triple jump with a 13.48m (44-02.75) jump
  • Tanner Berg threw to a third place finish in the shot put with a 15.52m (50-11.00) toss and in the discus throwing 43.69 (143-04)
  • Jake Olson finished second in the discus throwing 46.93m (154-00)

WOMEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Hanneke Oosterwegel won the 100m dash with a time of 12.30, followed by Shanice Burrell and Isabel Kinzer in second and third crossing the line at 12.53 and 12.97
  • Madison Barnes added an event win in the 200m with a time of 25.81, while Emma Rezac took third with a time of 26.62
  • Oosterwegel and Rezac went on to place first and third in the 400m with times of 56.02 and 58.17 respectively
  • Burrell won the 100m with a time of 15.03
  • Kinzer tallied a second place finish in the 400m hurdles
  • The 4x100m relay team of Dakota Hutzler, Hanneke Oosterwegel, Shanice Burrell, and Emma Rezac finished with a race winning time of 49.44
  • Hutzler placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.47m (4-10.00)
  • Kealy Hill took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.35m (10-11.75)
  • Jordan Menken led the throwers placing fourth in the shot put with a 13.52m (44-04.25) toss and second in the discus throwing 42.84m (140-07)
