Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team dropped their final two home games of the 2019 season to St. Cloud State on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams were scoreless through the first two innings, however St. Cloud State broke through with a solo home run in the top of the third
- The Huskies added two more runs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings, while holding the Wolves scoreless to secure the victory
- Northern tallied five hits, but suffered four errors defensively
- Jamie Fisher suffered the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, on seven hits with two strikeouts

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second straight game, St. Cloud State scored first in the top of the third, notching five runs on four hits
- The Huskies shut the Wolves out through the first five innings, however Kennady Thompson and Courtney Sjerven teamed up to put the Wolves on the board
- Sjerven reached base on a fielder's choice and came around to score on Thompson's 11th home run of the season, a 2-run shot to left field
- Northern was unable to mount a comeback, as St. Cloud tallied two more runs in the top of the seventh
- Andrea Cherney suffered the loss giving up four runs, two earned, on five hits in just 2.1 innings of work
- NSU tallied two runs scored on six hits with two errors defensively

UP NEXT
Northern rounds out the regular season this weekend at Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul. The games are scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday, but may be moved to Friday and Saturday due to forecasted rain over the weekend. Stay tuned to nsuwolves.com for further updates.
