ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State's Madison Rutter (softball) and Trey Tiefenthaler (track and field) have been named as the Qdoba Athletes of the Week for their athletic efforts last week. Each week, Qdoba Mexican Grill honors two athletes for their efforts on the field of play.
 
Madison Rutter hit a .421 on the week versus UMD, SMSU, and USF. She tallied a team high .789 slugging percentage with one double and two homeruns. Rutter recorded three runs scored, eight hits, and a team high seven RBI. She also played a perfect defense with 33 putouts and four assists.
 
Trey Tiefenthaler won two events from the UNK Loper Invite with a time of 11.00 in the 100m dash and jump of 14.09m in the triple jump. He added a third place finish in the long jump with a 6.60m mark. Tiefenthaler was a member of the second place 4x100m relay that ran to a season best time.
