St. Joseph, Mo.  – The Northern State University softball team fell to Missouri Southern from the Hy-Vee Classic on Friday afternoon in five innings. The Wolves have now lost four straight, with just one non-conference game remaining in the regular season.

• Missouri Southern jumped out to an early lead in the game, notching two runs in the first and another in the second
• The Wolves grabbed their lone run of the game in the fourth inning, as Jen Martin singled to left center scoring Rachel Reinke who doubled the previous at-bat
• The Lions sealed the mercy rule victory in the fifth with six runs
• Northern tallied one run on four hits with one error
• Andrea Cherney suffered her sixth loss of the season, giving up four earned runs on seven hits
