Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team hits the road for five games this week with two games against University of Sioux Falls and three against Upper Iowa. The doubleheader with Sioux Falls will be played on Thursday night at Ronken Field on the campus of Augustana starting at 6 p.m. The Upper Iowa is currently scheduled for normal time on Saturday and Sunday at Upper Iowa.
 
About the Wolves:

• The Wolves enter this week with a 6-8 overall record and a 1-2 conference record. NSU opened conference play last weekend at Winona State and went 1-2.
• Team batting average was .266 with 4 doubles, six home runs, 16 runs batted in, and a .990 fielding percentage.
• Luke Chevalier pitched a complete game with four hits, two runs allowed, and five strikeouts.
• Tyler Jones picked up a save over the weekend working one inning, faced three hitters, and struck out one batter.
• Hayden Houts went 5-for-10 on the weekend with one double, one home run, and two runs batted in. Mikey Adams also went 5-for-10 in the three games with two doubles, one home run, and four runs batted in.
• Chad Hinkle went 2-for-3 in the final game of the series with two solo home runs.
• Houts is leading the team in hitting this season in these categories; a batting average of .412, with 21 hits, tied with three doubles, tied with one triple, tied with three home runs, and 15 runs batted in.
• Isaiah Chevalier is also hitting .400 with one double, three runs batted in, and three stolen bases.
• Spencer Sarringar is hitting .316 with one double, one home run, and four runs batted in.
• Tyler Jones is leading the pitching staff with zero runs given up in 8.0 innings of work; he has also struck out seven.
• Luke Chevalier has pitched 17.2 innings, with a 4.08 earned run average, with 18 strikeouts.
• John Werner is leading the team in strikeouts with 24 in 16.1 innings pitched, giving up 10 runs, and walking eight.

 
About Sioux Falls:

• The Cougars enter the midweek doubleheader with a 2-14 record and 0-3 in the early conference season.
