Aberdeen, S.D. – The (RV) Northern State University wrestling team will head to the NCAA Super Region V Tournament this Saturday, hosted by Minnesota State University Moorhead. The tournament has been broken into two sessions with competition running from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the championship matches wrestling at 6 p.m. from the Nemzek Fieldhouse. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for students, and children 5 and under are free.
The Wolves will face off against wrestlers from (RV) MSU Moorhead, No. 1 St. Cloud State, No. 19 Upper Iowa, (RV) Augustana, UMary, Minot State, (RV) Southwest Minnesota State, No. 17 Minnesota State, and (RV) Wisconsin-Parkside.
NOTEABLE MOMENTS THIS SEASON
- Kolton Roth won the Dakota Wesleyan Open
- Kaden Campbell, Caden Moore, and Harrison Townsend won the Finn Grinaker Open
- Northern finished the dual season with a 6-5 record overall and 3-5 mark in the NSIC
- It was the Wolves first winning season since NSU went 9-7 in 2007-08
- NSU defeated Augustana (21-13) for the first time since 1995-96, breaking a 25-match win streak by the Vikings
- The Wolves notched their first team nationally ranking since 2016-17 sitting at No. 25 in the January 11 poll
