2019-20: Went 14-7 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC… Placed third at the Finn Grinaker… Took sixth at the NCAA Super Region 5 Tournament…

2018-19: Went 15-14 overall on the year and 2-5 in the NSIC… Placed third at the Finn Grinaker Open and eighth at the Midwest Classic…

2017-18: Went 7-9 on the year and 0-4 in the NSIC... Recorded four decision win, two major decisions, and one technical fall... 

2016-17: Redshirt season…

Prep: Holtan is a 157 pound wrestler out of Carrington High School. He is a 6-year letter winner and senior team captain for the Carrington Cardinals. Billy is a 2015 and 2016 North Dakota State Champion. Holtan has also added third and sixth place finishes with 189 career victories. Carrington High School is the 2-time defending Duals and Team State Champions in North Dakota, tallying the most points scored at a North Dakota State B Tournament. Billy also runs track and cross country and plays football for Carrington High School. He is the son of Bill and Laurel Holtan.
