Wolves Swimming Set to Face Non-Conference Opponent From Morris, Minnesota

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State swimming heads to Minnesota Morris for their first road dual versus a non-conference opponent tomorrow. First race is off the blocks at 6 p.m. from the Cougar Pool.
 
About Northern
  •  NSU enters the dual 0-10 and 0-1 on the road
  •  Northern fell to the University of Mary in the home opener last Friday, 154-107
  •  The Wolves last weekend notched a season high with 36 top-five finishes and 20 top-three finished
  •  Lauren Forsyth and Josie Gillund are both coming off season bests in their events with Forsyth dropping .42 seconds in her 100 fly and Gillund dropping 2.63 second in her 200 free
  • Forsyth recorded two race wins for the Wolves in the 200 fly (2:12.88) 100 fly (1:00.27)
  • The Northern State relay team of Cassie Williams, Marialuisa Avila, Connor Doran and Gillund won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:41.23
 
About Minnesota Morris
  • The Cougars enter the weekend 1-0 with their win last weekend against Concordia College 149-69
  • UMM notched 18 top-three finishes and nine first place finishes last weekend
  • Minnesota Morris recorded a time of 2:01.85 in the 200 medley, and Caitlina Papke recording 1:17.08 in the 100 breast
  • The Cougars are led by head coach Dave Molesworth in 16th season

Last Meeting
  • The Wolves defeated the Cougars just a season ago 158-62
  • Gillund and Jordan Metz went one and two in the 1000 free securing 13 team points with times of 11:30.64 and 11:48.18
  • This will be the 13th meeting between these two squads in the history of Northern swim
  • Only nine of those meetings being scored the Wolves are 8-1 all-time against the Cougars
