Snyder Earns NSIC Offensive Player of the Year Honors and Seven Wolves are Named to the All-Conference Teams

Burnsville, Minn. – Seven Northern State University volleyball players were included on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate All-Conference teams, as released by the league earlier today. Laura Snyder highlighted the announcement for the Wolves as the NSIC Offensive Player of the Year. She is joined by Ashley Rozell and Jenna Reiff on the first team, while Morgan Baufield, Peyton Ellingson, Sally Gaul, and Jaiden Langlie earned second team honors.
 
The seven honorees is the most in program history for the Wolves, surpassing the five named to the list in the fall of 2018. Snyder is also the second player of the year recipient in program history, following in the footsteps of 2015 graduate, Drew Smith. Northern recorded the largest number of honorees on this year's teams.
 
Snyder leads the Northern State offense this season with 385 total kills, averaging 4.14 kills per set with a .354 attack percentage. She ranks in the top-20 nationally in both kills and points per set. Snyder has 269 total kills with a .331 hitting percentage in league competition. She ranks eighth in the NSIC in both attack percentage and kills per set this season. The junior recorded the 1,000 kill of her career last weekend versus the University of Sioux Falls and currently has 1,010. She has recorded double figure kills in 26 of the Wolves 28 matches this season, hitting over .400 in ten. The junior opened her career as the NSIC Freshman of the Year and has been named to the NSIC All-Conference first team in each of her three seasons.
 
Rozell became the Northern State all-time assists leader earlier this season, with 4,968 career assists thus far. She has dished out 1,125 this season and ranks fourth in nation averaging 12.10 per set. In addition, she sits top-10 nationally in total assists and has paced the Northern State offense to a national second best attack percentage of .294. Versus league competition, Rozell has 804 total assists, averaging 12.18 per set, which ranks second behind Balts of UMD. The senior has recorded over 50 assists in seven matches this season and the Wolves have hit over .300 in 17 matches this fall. This is the third NSIC All-Conference first team honor of the senior's career.
 
Reiff is second on the team offensively this season with 319 total kills, averaging 3.43 kills per set. She tallied the 1,000 kill of her career earlier this season and currently has 1,127. She has also been a key contributor defensively with a team second best 294 digs, averaging 3.16 per set. Against NSIC competition, Reiff has 226 kills and 235 digs this season. She ranks 11th in the NSIC averaging 3.42 kills per set and 17th in the league averaging 3.56 digs per set. Reiff has tallied double figure kills in 19 matches this season and hit over .300 in ten matches. This is the third NSIC All-Conference first team honor of the senior's career.
 
Baufield has racked up 163 kills, averaging 1.75 per set, and 70.0 blocks, averaging 0.75 per set, this season. Fifty of her season blocks have come against Northern Sun competition, ranking her 11th in the NSIC averaging 0.76 blocks per set. Baufield has recorded three matches with double figure kills and seven matches hitting over .400 this season. The second team selection is the first of Baufield's career.
 
Ellingson leads the Northern State net defense in 2019 with 102.0 total blocks, averaging 1.20 per set. She has 154 total kills, averaging 1.81 per set, while hitting a team best .415 on the year. Her season attack percentage ranks the redshirt freshman fifth nationally in the category. Ellingson tallied 71.0 blocks in NSIC competition, which ranks her second in the league averaging 1.18 blocks per set. She has recorded five matches with double figure kills and 11 hitting above .400. The second team honor is the first of Ellingson's career.
 
Gaul is the final member of the Wolves offense with over 200 kills this season, racking up 268 total, averaging 3.08 per set. She is hitting .252 on the year. In league action, Gaul has recorded 185 kills with a .236 attack percentage and 20.0 blocks. The sophomore has double-digit kills in 17 matches in 2019, while hitting above .300 in nine. The second team selection is the first of Gaul's career.
 
Langlie leads the Northern State defense with 423 total digs, averaging 4.55 digs per set this season. In addition, she has 34 aces this season with 30 coming in league play. The senior ranks first, averaging 0.45 aces per set and fifth, averaging 4.83 digs per set in the NSIC versus league opponents. She is the first NSU student-athlete to record over 1,500 career digs in the past 25 years, with 1,748 currently. Langlie has recorded over 20 digs in seven matches this season. For the second time in her career, Langlie has earned NSIC All-Conference second team honors.
