Tucson, Ariz. – Northern State University baseball team fell to Northwestern College Tuesday night 10-4. With the loss the Wolves drop to 2-2 on the season.
In the second inning the Wolves picked up two runs to take an early lead on the Red Raiders. Northwestern answered in the fourth inning with five runs to take the lead. Northwestern added one run in the top of the sixth inning to extend the lead to four. NSU pushed two across in the eighth inning to bring the Northwestern lead to two. Northwestern scored four in the top of the ninth to extend the lead to six.
Seth Sullwold led the Wolves with two hits, two runs, and two runs batted in.
Jack Schmidt had two hits for the Wolves.
Hayden Hall had one hit, one run batted in, and had two walks on the day.
Dakota Stilson had one hit, one run, and one walk.
Mikey Adams had one hit in four at-bats.
Kolin Kubitz had one hit on the day.
Justin Barreneche also had one hit for NSU.
Thomas Sertic took the loss for the Wolves today going four innings, giving up four earned runs on six hits, one walk, and four strikeouts.
Andrew Nichols went one and a third innings giving up one run on one hit and struck out one batter.
Holt Hunziker went one and two thirds of an inning giving up no hits, no runs, and struck out three hitters.
Mike Wiesmann went one inning giving up one hit and walked one batter.
Brock Ragatz pitched the ninth inning giving up four runs on three hits and struck out one batter.
The Wolves are back in action Thursday against Waldorf University. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m against the Warriors.
