Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team hits the road for four regional games this Saturday and Sunday from Missouri. The Missouri Western Tournament was shifted to a regional crossover due to weather, and the Wolves will now face Missouri Western, Washburn, Northwest Missouri State, and Central Missouri. NSU will face MWSU and WU from St. Joseph, and NWMSU and CMU from Maryville.
 
The Wolves enter the weekend with a 9-7 record overall, after a 7-5 week down in Florida. As a team, NSU is hitting .331 with 138 hits, 25 doubles, one triple, six homeruns, 74 RBI, and 80 runs scored. Two Wolves are hitting above .400 this season, while another eight are hitting above .300. Defensively, Northern holds a .943 fielding percentage with 304 putouts, 141 assists, and 27 errors. The pitching staff has a 4.53 ERA through 101.1 innings pitched with 47 strikeouts and a .271 opponent batting average.
 
Kennady Thompson and Cassidy Schaar lead the team hitting .447 and .44 this season. Thompson has recorded a time high 21 hits and 13 RBI, as well as the lone triple. Shayla Steinley leads the team with 11 runs scored, while Katie Dawson has belted three of the team's six homeruns. Jamie Fisher leads the team on the mound with a 6-3 record overall this season. The junior holds a 1.91 ERA through 66.0 innings pitched. She has three shutout victories and two saves on the year, leading the Wolves with 37 strikeouts and a .206 opponent batting average.


About Missouri Western – March 17 @ 10 a.m.
- The Griffons are 7-16 overall and have opened MIAA play with a 3-1 record
- MWSU is hitting .300 this season with 184 hits, 37 doubles, three triples, 16 homeruns, 101 RBI, and 107 runs scored
- Shelby Uhl leads the team hitting .395 with 30 hits, 21 RBI, and 15 runs scored
- The Griffon pitching staff holds a 7.78 ERA through 145.2 innings pitched with 43 strikeouts and a .362 opponent batting average
- Kenzie Hilzer has a 4-7 record this season, throwing 72.1 innings. She has a 6.68 ERA with a time high 34 strikeouts
- Missouri Western is led by head coach Jen Bagley Trotter in her 17^th season at the helm
 
About Washburn – March 17 @ 4 p.m.
- The Ichabods are 17-6 overall this season and currently on a 4-game win streak
- WU is hitting .312 on the year, with 188 hits, 31 doubles, seven triples, 12 homeruns, 102 RBI, and 111 runs scored
- Emilee Baker leads the team with a .444 average, notching 32 hits and a team second best 19 runs scored
- The Ichabod pitching staff posts a 3.07 ERA through 152.2 innings pitched with 139 strikeouts and a .220 opponent batting average
- Megan Deiter is 7-0 on the year with a 1.99 ERA, 87 strikeouts, and a .173 opponent average
- Kelsee Henry is 8-3 this season with a 3.48 ERA, 27 strikeouts, and a .238 opponent average
- Washburn is led by head coach Brenda Holaday in her second season with the program
 
About Northwest Missouri State – March 18 @ 11 a.m.
- The Bearcats are 9-7 overall this season, and have opened MIAA play with a  3-1 record
- NWMSU is hitting .338 as a team, with 163 hits, 27 doubles, two triples, 20 homeruns, 92 RBI, and 103 runs scored
- Abigail Gilson holds a .435 team leading average, while Kaitlyn Weis is hitting .386 with a team high 22 hits, five doubles, and five homeruns
- The Northwest staff has posted a 3.01 ERA through 102.1 innings pitched with 71 strikeouts and a .275 opponent batting average
- Taylor Blackford and Rachel Smith each have four wins on the season
- Blackford has a 2.42 ERA and .286 opponent batting average, while Smith has a 3.23 ERA and leads the squad with 41 strikeouts
- Northwest is led by head coach Ryan Anderson in his 12^th season at the helm
 
About Central Missouri – March 18 @ 1 p.m.
- The Jennies are 9-13 overall this season, and 1-1 in MIAA action
- Central Missouri is hitting .258 on the year, with 149 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, two homeruns, 63 RBI, and 74 runs scored
- Lauryn Deer leads the team and is the only Jennie above .300 with a .361 average, notching 26 hits and ten runs scored
- The Central Mo staff holds a 4.80 ERA through 141.1 innings pitched with 69 strikeouts and a .288 opponent average
- Sarah Brown leads the team with a 3-5 record and 3.55 ERA, notching 25 strikeouts
