Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State Wolves ended their non-conference schedule falling the Missouri Western State Griffon with the score of 3-0. The loss puts Wolves to 1-1-0 overall, while the Griffons improve their season to 3-0.
MWSU took the lead 15 minutes into the game when junior Madeline Cowell netted the first goal. The Griffons adding on another goal off the foot of junior Cassidy Menke. The final goal of the game was scored by Missouri Western freshman Ashley Mathis.
NSU was out shot by the Griffons 26-9, including 13 shots on goal to the Wolves five. Sophomore
Stephany Estrada and freshman
Karli Epstein combined for four shots and two shots on goal for the Wolves.
Justine Charles tallied ten saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Wolves return on Sunday Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. as they start their NSIC conference play against the Dragons of MSU Moorhead.
