Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State Soccer picks up another win and their first of NSIC play defeating MSU Moorhead 1-0 in the league opener. The Wolves improve to 2-1 overall, and 1-0 in the league, while the Dragons fall to 0-2-1 overall, and 0-1 in conference play this season.
The first and only goal of the game came at the 1:39 mark in the first half.
Alexis Lewis took the first corner kick of the game for the Wolves, sending the ball into the MSUM box. The ball bounced off the foot of one of the Dragon defenders and hit the net for an MSUM own goal.
After 90 minutes of back and forth play from each team, the Wolves came out on top winning the match and out playing the Dragons. Northern tallied seven corner kicks to Moorhead's four in the game. The Wolves also recorded a better shooting percentage with six shots on goal of the nine taken, while the Dragons tallied six shots on goal with 16 taken.

The Wolves will be back in action as they travel to Marshall for their first road game against Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 16.
