Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team begins a 10-game home stand this weekend versus Wayne State College from Fossum Field. First pitch is schedule for 4 p.m. on Saturday following the Presentation College game and 12 p.m. on Sunday. Live audio will be available for Saturday's doubleheader, with both days having live stats and live video.
 
The Wolves enter the weekend with a 16-20 record overall and 9-15 mark in league action after falling to No. 19 Minnesota State twice in midweek play. The Wolves are hitting .278 as a team with 302 hits, 207 runs scored, 60 doubles, 11 triples, 19 homeruns, and 184 RBI. Junior Lucas Lorenz is leading three hitters above .300 this season with a .331 average. Lorenz also has a team leading 40 hits, 30 runs scored, 12 doubles, ten homeruns, four triples, and a .744 slugging percentage. His four triples have moved Lorenz into the top spot for career triples (11) in the modern day record book. Tyler Gripentrog is leading the team on the base paths with seven stolen bases in nine attempts.
 
On the mound, the Wolves hold a 5.33 team ERA through 273.2 innings with 189 strikeouts and a .283 opponent batting average. Luke Chevalier, Nick Hoffard, and Thomas Sertic each have four wins this season. Chevalier leads the team with a 1.88 ERA and 55 strikeouts. Kris Johnson has been a mainstay in the later innings for the Wolves, throwing 11.1 innings with two saves and a 1.59 ERA.
