Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team remains on the road this Friday and Saturday for a 4-game series with the University of Mary. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday between the Wolves and Marauders.
The Wolves enter the weekend series with a 13-17 record overall and 6-12 mark in the NSIC. The Wolves are coming off a midweek spilt with Minot State University, falling 7-3 and winning 12-3. Heading into the weekend,
Ben Carolin leads the team hitting .342 this season.
Lucas Lorenz is second on the team with a .330 average, while leading the Wolves with 33 hits, 24 runs scored, 32 RBI, 11 doubles, and seven homeruns. As a team the Wolves are hitting .282 with 258 hits, 163 runs scored, 50 doubles, eight triples, 12 homeruns, and 144 RBI.
Luke Chevalier and
Nick Hoffard each have three wins this season, while Chevalier sitting atop the team holding a 2.20 ERA and 44 strikeouts. Hoffard has thrown the most innings for the Wolves with 51.1 this season.
Nate Zeise has been solid in the relief thus far throwing 11.1 innings with a 2.38 ERA and team low .205 opponent batting average. As a staff, Northern holds a 5.38 ERA through 232.2 innings pitched with 152 strikeouts and a .288 opponent batting average.
