Wolves Set for Three Game Series with William Jewell

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team will hit the road this Friday through Sunday for a three game series against William Jewell. The Wolves will face off against the Cardinals at 2 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. on Sunday from Liberty, Missouri.
 
The Wolves are coming off a 5-4 week from Tucson with wins over Briar Cliff, No. 14 St. Cloud State, the University of Winnipeg, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. The NSU offense struggled to get things going in the opening days of the trip, however found a rhythm as the week progressed with 51 hits in the final four games. A total of eight Wolves are hitting above .300 on the year, with Ben Allen leading the starters with a .385 mark followed by Lucas Lorenz hitting .379. As a team, NSU is hitting .307 with 81 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, four homeruns, 51 RBI, and a .410 on base percentage. Luke Chevalier is leading the team on the hill with a 0.00 ERA through 14.0 innings pitched. The sophomore has two wins and one save thus far this season, and a team leading 14 strikeouts. He was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week alongside fellow Wolf, Lorenz who was named the NSIC Player of the Week.
