NCAA Championships Kicks Off Tomorrow for Hovind and Bullen from Indiana

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State seniors Sasha Hovind and Dakotah Bullen will hit the cross country course one last time tomorrow, racing in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The Championships, hosted by Southern Indiana, will take place from the Angel Mounds course in Evansville, Indiana. The women's 6k race is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The race time was moved up from 10:15 a.m. due to inclement weather in the Evansville area.

Hovind and Bullen placed second and fifth from the NCAA Central Region meet, following All-Conference performances from the NSIC Championships. Hovind hit the finish line with a time of 21:11.04 advancing to her third NCAA Championships meet. The 2-time cross country All-American was just under 18 seconds off the leader, recording the highest Central Region meet finish of her career. Bullen qualified for her second championships meet, and also recorded her highest finish from the Central Region meet, up for places from 2015 when she finished ninth. Both women also tallied All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA.
