Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head coach
Lynne Dingman announced today the signing of seven student-athletes for the 2020-21 season. Kenzee Danielson (Harrisburg, S.D.), Kenzie Hamann (Clear Lake, S.D.), Lydia Kline (Aberdeen, S.D.), Makenna Larson (Chester, S.D.), Christine Nefzger (Estelline, S.D.), Rylie Stonecipher (Rapid City, S.D.), and Christine Stoltenberg (Stratford, S.D.) will join the Wolves next fall.
"We are excited to add a strong group of women to our Wolf Pack," exclaimed Dingman. "They are a great group of student athletes who can perform well on the track and in the classroom."

Kenzee Danielson is a pole-vaulter out of Harrisburg High School. She is a 3-year letter winner for the Tigers under the direction of Jacob Pohlman. Danielson holds personal bests of 10'9" in the pole vault and 16'4" on the long jump. She holds the Harrisburg High School record in the pole vault. She is the daughter of Delena and Chad Danielson.

"Kenzee Danielson from Harrisburg High School has only been vaulting for a short period of time. She is former level ten gymnast. She is an extremely hard worker and I believe she is going to hit some big jumps this year!"

Kenzie Hamann will join the Wolves as a member of the cross country and track and field teams, competing in the distance events. She is a 5-year letter winner in track and 3-year letter winner in cross country, as well as a team captain at Duel High School. Hamann holds personal bests of 5:25.07 in the 1600m, 11:54.52 in the 3200m, and 18:49.78 in the 5k. She is a 10-time state placer in track and field. In addition, Hamann holds the Duel school records in the 1600m, 3200m, and pole vault. She is the daughter of Stephen and Melody Budahl and Cole Hamann.

"Kenzie Hamann from Deuel High School has been a stand out on both the track and cross-country teams. She is a strong runner and fits right in with our team. She will bring a lot of positive energy to our group."

Lydia Kline is a sprinter out of Aberdeen Christian High School. She is a 2-year letter winner for the Knights under the direction of head coach David Rohrbach. Kline recorded three top-8 finishes from the South Dakota State Meet in 2019 in the 100m (12.74), 200m (26.85), and 400m (1:01.42). She is the daughter of Northern State alumni Eric and Kami Kline.

"Lydia Kline, a sprinter from Aberdeen Christian comes in with good range from the 100m to 400m. She adds some depth to our women's sprint department. I feel Lydia has just started to scratch the surface of her potential. We are excited to see how fast she gets this year."

Makenna Larson is a sprinter out of Chester Area School. She is a 5-year letter winner for the Flyers under the direction of head coach Misty Larson. Larson holds personal bests of 12.39 in the 100m, 25.64 in the 200m, and 1:00.60 in the 400m. She is a 6-time school record holder at Chester Area in the 100m, 200m, 400m relay, 800m relay, 1600m relay, and 1600m sprint medley relay. In 2019, she was a finalist for the Argus Leader Athlete of the Year. Larson is a 15-time state placer and 5-time South Dakota State Champion. She is the daughter of Northern State alumni Heath and Misty Larson.

"MaKenna Larson comes in from having a very successful high school career under the direction of Misty Larson (her mom) from Chester High School. I am extremely excited to watch her come in and battle with our women in the conference."

Christine Nefzger is a pole-vaulter out of Estelline High School. She is a letter winner for the Redhawks under the direction of head coach Jim Rieger. Nefzger's personal best of 11'0" was achieved in 2019 at the region meet. She is the 2019 South Dakota State Class B Champion in the pole vault, clearing 10'9". She is the daughter of Dan and Robin Nefzger.

"Christine Nefzger from Estelline High School is the reigning South Dakota State Champ in the Pole Vault. She has the potential to hit some bigger heights this coming year."

Rylie Stonecipher is a jumper out of Stevens High School. She is a 4-year letter winner for the Raiders under the direction of head coach Paul Hendry. Stonecipher hold personal bests of 36'4" in the triple jump, 16'10" in the long jump, and 4'10" in the high jump. She is a 2-time state placer in the triple jump taking sixth in 2017 and fourth in 2019. She is the daughter of Curt and Julie Stonecipher.

"Rylie Stonecipher from Rapid City has been a strong presence in the jumps since her freshmen year. We are excited to add some more depth to our jumps area. Rylie is dynamic jumper and we look for her to get better every year."

Christine Stoltenberg is a thrower out of Northwestern High School. She is a 5-year letter winner for the Wildcats. Stoltenberg holds personal bests of 37'0.5" in the shot put and 105'6" in the discus. She is a 4-time state qualifier and the 2018 Region Champion in both the shot put and discus. She is the daughter of Jerry and Gail Stoltenberg.
Dingman on Stoltenberg:
"Chrissy Stoltenberg from Northwestern High School brings some depth to our throws area. She's a very strong thrower who is coming off an ankle injury her junior year. She has worked very hard in the off season getting ready and we are excited to see some big throws from her this year!"
