Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team will close out their 2017 home schedule this Friday as they welcome to town the Vikings of Augustana. The conference dual is set to begin at 4 p.m. from the Aberdeen YMCA. The Wolves will also honor their seniors in the final home meet of their careers.
The Wolves are coming off back-to-back dual meet wins against U-Mary (144-117) and Minnesota Morris (158-73). Against the Cougars, Northern won ten of the 11 swimming events and broke three pool records.
Kalina Emaus led NSU against UMM with three first place finishes in the 1000 free (11:08.04), 200 fly (2:18.39), and 500 free (5:29.27).
Edda Skoric was second on the team, notching two first place finishes in the 200 free with a time of 2:01.91 and 200 back with a time of 2:17.63. Emaus (1000 free), Skoric (200 back), and
Karlie Brown (400 IM) tallied the three pool records for the Wolves. Northern also tallied relay victories in the 200 medley and the 200 free.
About the Vikings
- Augustana is 3-2 overall this season with wins over the Wolves and the U-Mary Marauders
- Most recently AU defeated U-Mary 163-99 at home
- The Vikings won ten events, with Micah Hudiet leading the way with three event victories in the 400 medley relay, 100 breast, and 200 free
