Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University football team welcomes Bemidji State to town this Saturday in the 62
nd Annual Shrine Game. The Wolves and Beavers will kick-off at 2:30 p.m. from Swisher Field, with the game being aired on MidcoSN. Northern will also honor their 15 seniors prior to kick-off.
The Wolves enter the weekend after tough loss to Minnesota Duluth from Swisher Field last Saturday. Northern will look to bounce back after going 2-0 to open North Division play. With four games remaining in the regular season, NSU is averaging 14.1 points, 107.4 yards rushing, 138.6 yards passing, and 246.0 yards of total offense per game. Sophomore,
Preston Droessler, sits in the top-5 of the league in tackles for a loss with 7.5, averaging 1.07 per game. He is also fourth in the NSIC in sacks with four.
Josh Coyle sits fifth in the NSIC in fumbles recovered with two in 2017, while
Noah MacPherson is sixth in the league with two forced. Prior to the match-up with the Bulldogs,
Nicholas Truen had added 253 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the year in the two wins against MSUM and Minot.
Nathan Shaw is still on the hunt for his fourth field goal of the season, and 27th over his career which would make him the career leader at NSU.
