NSIC Tournament Bracket
Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University softball team earned a berth into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Tournament for the second consecutive year. NSU finished regular season action with an overall record of 24-30, going 14-16 in the NSIC. The No. 9 seeded Wolves will take on the No. 8 seed Bemidji State University in the opening round.

Northern State received a spot in the tournament going 3-1 on the weekend, sweeping Bemidji State and splitting with Minnesota Crookston in a pair of double-headers. Seniors
Kelsey Gale and
Kalie Maiden each led the team offensively as Gale went 5-8 with two RBIs and two runs scored against the Beavers and Maiden collected three hits versus the Golden Eagles.

Jamie Fisher recorded two of the team's three victories, holding the two teams to just two earned runs in 14 innings of work.

The Wolves will face Bemidji State at 10 a.m. on Thursday from Sherman Park in Sioux Falls, S.D..

- The Beavers finished conference play with a 14-11 record, and are currently 31-17 overall in the 2016 season.
- Kelsey McAllister leads Bemidji State from the plate, batting .375 with a team-high 23 RBIs and 10 homeruns.
- Jessica Yost is 17-7 from the mound with 249 strikeouts and a 1.82 ERA.
