Jamestown, N.D. – The Northern State University baseball team traveled to face the University of Jamestown in a non-conference midweek game. The Wolves fell 15-5 in eight innings of action, dropping to 11-14 overall this season.
The Wolves fell behind early, as the Jimmies to a 9-1 lead through the first three innings of play. Northern battled back with four runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth, however it was not enough to overcome a four run UJ eighth inning.
Jack Schmidt and
Matt Stubbs led the team going 2-for-4 on the day. Schmidt led the team with two RBI, a run scored, and a double, while Stubbs notched a homerun in the second. Also recording hits in the game were

Lucas Lorenz,
Ben Allen,
Zach Beatty,
Mikey Barreneche, and
Patrick Leary with a single apiece.
Luke Chevalier entered in relief for the Wolves throwing 3.1 scoreless innings of action. The redshirt freshman gave up just two hits and one walk, in the Wolves strongest appearance of the day.
Cody Vandever and
Kris Johnson tallied the team's two strikeouts in the game, while starter
Nick Hoffard suffered the loss.
The Wolves return home Saturday and Sunday for a pair of NSIC doubleheaders with Wayne State. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday from Fossum Field.
