Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team continues NSIC action on the road tomorrow against the St. Cloud State University Huskies. After opening up conference play from home this past weekend, the Wolves extended their NSIC record to 2-2. Northern State dropped two games against USF and swept SMSU in a pair of double-headers. NSU is currently 12-16 overall.
As a unit, the Wolves are batting .244 with 12 team homeruns in 88 total runs scored. They enter the weekday series with a fielding percentage of .962. The Northern State pitching staff has held opponents to a .258 batting average, with an earned run average of 3.04.
Junior pitcher
Missy Elkins has collected seven wins from the mound this season, with two complete game shutouts. The starter leads the pitchers with an ERA of 2.45.
Leading statistically early in the season has been senior,
Kelsey Gale. The NSU veteran sits atop the team with a .394 batting average, tallying eight doubles, three homeruns and 13 RBIs. The senior also leads the infield with a .981 fielding percentage.
Northern State will take on the Huskies from Selke Field at 2 and 4 p.m..
