ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State's Hannah Kastigar (swimming & cross country) and Stephen Erlandson (football) have been named as the Qdoba Scholar Athletes of the Week for their academic and athletic efforts last week.  Each week, Qdoba Mexican Grill honors two athletes for their efforts on the field of play.

Hannah Kastigar, a junior out of Aberdeen Central High School, Aberdeen SD, helped score points for the Northern State Wolves in their swimming meet Thursday evening against University of Sioux Falls Cougars. Kastigar beat out competitors in both the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard butterfly, finishing in 2:05.76 and 2:02.92 respectively. The junior's time in the 200 butterfly was enough to defeat her own school record, set previously this year. Both of the swims were qualifying B times. Kastigar continues to own five school records early in the season. Following the swimming meet Thursday, Kastigar competed for the Wolves on Saturday during the Central Regional Championship cross country meet. Kastigar finished first for the Wolves crossing the line 38^th of 211 runners in a time of 21:55.92.
 
Stephen Erlandson, a senior out of Breckenridge High School, Breckenridge Minn., aided in the Northern State University Wolves victory over the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles. Erlandson led the Northern State rushers with 104 yards, marking a season high for the senior. The running back tallied two rushing touchdowns, his firsts of the year, and averaged 17.3 yards per carry with a 42 yard long. Erlandson added 28 yards off kickoff returns for 132 total yards in the game. The Wolves victory was the last home game of the year and recorded their first undefeated home season in three decades.
