Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's swim team will continue NSIC action on the road this weekend, facing MSU Moorhead in their first head-to-head dual of the 2016-17 season. The Wolves will look to bounce back after falling to the Dragons 95-218 and 75-186 from the Northern Michigan Quad.
NSU posted ten top-10 finishes in the first day against competitors MSU Moorhead, St. Cloud State and Northern Michigan University. Junior
Hannah Kastigar led the way with three individual first place finishes in the 200 yard free, the 100 yard free and the 400 yard IM.
As a unit, the Wolves continued to improve times on day two of the NMU Quad as
Hannah Kastigar,
Kalina Emaus and
Edda Skoric each posted top-4 finishes. Kastigar once again nabbed three first places finishes, completing the 200 yard butterfly in 2:03.40, the 100 yard butterfly in 56.73 and the 200 yard IM in 2:03.22.
Kalina Emaus tallied a strong fourth place finish for Northern State in the 1650 yard free, while
Edda Skoric swam the 200 yard backstroke in 2:11.00 for a third place finish.
The Wolves will begin the dual against MSU Moorhead from the Alex Nemzek Pool at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

- The Dragons opened the 2016-17 season going 2-4 at the NMU Quad, with both of their victories coming against Northern State.
- Junior Erin Sullivan won the 50 yard back with a time of 26.84 and the 100 yard back in 58.20 in day one of the meet.
- That relay team of Natalie Kampa, Linnea Johnson, Lexi Heil and Haley Roed was victorious in the 400 yard free with a finishing time of 3:06.59.
- The Dragon won three events in the final day of the NMU Quad as Erin Sullivan won the 100 yard and 200 yard backstroke, and freshman Breah Anderson took the win in the 50 yard free with a 24.62 finish.
