Box Score 2 St. Cloud State (47-3, 31-3 NSIC)Â came in as the top team in the nation and left the same way. In the process, the Huskies took the regular season NSIC Championship by beating the Wolves (25-24, 18-18 NSIC)Â 4-0 and 7-5. Northern State enters the postseason as the 8th seed and will play St. Cloud State Wednesday morning at 11am at Augustana College's Ronken Field.
Game 1
The Wolves outhit the the Huskies 7-5, but were unable to figure out SCSU Freshman Sheldon Miks, who won his 9th game this spring.
Phil Sauer, Sophomore from Forest Lake, Minnesota threw a complete game for the Wolves. Sauer scattered 5 hits and 4 earned over 7 innings. Freshman
Jack Schmidt and
Lucas Lorenz continue to lead the offense, as both went 2-3 in the game. Seniors
Mark Abrahamson,
Riley Shintaffer and
Alex Cornwell also collected 1 hit in the first game.

Game 2
The Huskies got out to a quick 4-0 lead off Senior starting pitcher
Cody Johns. Johns lasted 3 innings, giving up only 2 earned runs, with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. The Wolves got 3 consecutive doubles to start the bottom of the 4th inning.

Buddy Traxler, cutting the Huskies lead to 5-2. In the 5th inning after Shintaffer reached on an error, it was
Jack Schmidt doubling to right center scoring Shintaffer to make it 5-3. Huskies right fielder Karl Sorenson hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 7th to make it 7-3. Traxler cut the Huskies lead to 7-4Â with a single scoring
Jack Schmidt in the 8th.
Lucas Lorenz closed out the scoring with a solo homerun in the 9th, but the Wolves were unable to get anything going, losing 7-5.
