TUCSON, Ariz. – Northern State beat SMSU 15-2 Sunday afternoon in 7 innings. The Wolves collected 14 hits, including eight extra base hits, to earn it's largest victory of the early season. NSU (3-3) took advantage of 5 walks and 4 Mustang errors and that was enough for starting pitcherÂ
Cody Johns. Johns (1-1) threw a complete game for the first time this season. He gave up two runs on nine hits and zero walks, while striking out nine.  Three different Wolves collected three hits;
Tyler Gripentrog,
Eric O'Bryan and
Buddy Traxler. Traxler and O'Bryan each collected three runs batted in, while Gripentrog hit his first career Wolves homerun.
Alex Cornwell also homered in the game.
NSU is back in action Monday and they play Dakota Wesleyan University in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 11am Central/9 am Pacific Time.
