Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team will kick-off the 2015 NSIC season this weekend, as they travel to Augustana College. The Wolves are 6-5 overall, heading into the four game weekend. The two teams will play a doubleheader both Friday and Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, and 12 p.m., Saturday. 

Eric O'Bryan leads the NSU offense with a .395 average this season. He has tallied a team leading 17 hits, five doubles, and three stolen bases. Tyler Gripentrog is second on the team with a .382 average, connecting for 13 hits, two homeruns, and a team leading 14 runs scored. Northern sits with seven players hitting above .300 this season. Mark Abrahamson and Riley Shintaffer lead the team with 11 RBI, while Abrahamson is second on the team with a .714 slugging percentage. Northern is hitting .304 as a team with seven homeruns and 104 hits in just 11 games. 

Colton Boucher and Cody Johns lead the NSU pitching staff with two wins apiece this season. Boucher is 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, tallying one shutout and 14 strikeouts in three appearances. Johns sits 2-1 on the year, with a 2.70 ERA, while leading the team with 16 strikeouts and one shutout. James Georgakas and Phil Sauer have recorded a win apiece this season. Georgakas leads the team's starters with a 2.25 ERA. 

The Vikings are 9-6 on the year in their first home games of the season. TJ Davis is leading Augie with a .550 average in nine games played. The team holds ten players who are hitting above .300 and five players above .400. Ryne Lees leads the Augie pitching staff with a 2-0 record and .82 ERA in three appearances. Lees and Ryan Hamilton sit atop the team with 13 strikeouts apiece. Augustana's opponent average sits at a .288 mark, giving up 130 hits and 94 runs.
