2015 Softball ProspectusAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team opens the 2015 season tomorrow from West St. Paul and the West St. Paul Dome. The Wolves will face off against Minnesota Duluth in a nonconference match-up.
The Bulldogs are 5-2 on the year, after a two game sweep of Wisconsin-Parkside in Wednesday action from the West St. Paul Dome.
The Wolves enter the season with eight starters returning from a season ago, while adding six freshmen to the mix. In 2014, NSU finished with a 16-28 record overall, and 9-19 record in conference play.
Seniors Eryn Yancy and Kami Smesmo were picked as Northern's pre-season players to watch. The two squads did not play a season ago, due to poor weather conditions. In 2013 the Wolves went 1-3 versus Minnesota Duluth from the West St. Paul Dome and Swisher Field.
NSU will open the 2015 season at home versus MSU Moorhead, March 24
th with game times set for 2 and 4 p.m. from Moccasin Creek Softball Complex.
