Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team will travel to Sioux Falls and the Sanford Pentagon Sunday for the South Dakota Showcase. The event will feature the four college wrestling programs in the state with competition begin at noon. Tickets for the event will be available at the Sanford Pentagon box office.
The Wolves will match up against South Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, and Augustana in three separate duals. Northern will kick-off the day with Augie at noon, followed by SDSU and DWU. Matches are scheduled for noon, 1:30, and 3 p.m. however are subject to change due to the length of the previous dual.
Northern enters the weekend after two week break from the competition mat. The Wolves are receiving votes in this week's D2Wrestle.com poll, while
Joe Gomez and
Tyler Stenberg are ranked No. 3 and No. 7 in the nation. Stenberg has a team leading record of 12-2, while Gomez in 7-1. NSU will look for strong performance from the pair and across the board.
