BracketThe Northern State baseball team travels to Sioux Falls Wednesday afternoon as it opens NSIC Tournament play. The Wolves are the No. 6 seed in the tourney and will be going against the third seed St. Cloud State. NSU defeated SCSU 8-5 in its lone meeting earlier this season in Arizona.
Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Sioux Falls Stadium. If the Wolves win, they will next play at 2 p.m. Thursday. In the event of a loss, Northern will then play again at 7:00 Wednesday night.
This is Northern's first trip to the NSIC Tournament since 1997. The Wolves finished the regular season with a 28-17 mark overall and a 21-13 record in NSIC play. The 28 wins tie the school record for most wins in a single season (1974 and '76). Northern's sixth-place finish is also the highest finish in the league since winning the title in 1993.
