NSU (14-10, 8-6 NSIC) is coming off a sweep over Minnesota, Crookston Sunday and Monday. The Wolves were led by
Matt Stubbs and
Alex Cornwell in the sweep. For the week, Stubbs mashed the ball as he collected a .800 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .522. Stubbs hit two home runs and collected nine RBI while scoring seven runs of his own in the six games last week for the Wolves.
Against UMC, Stubbs hit .643 and collected 16 total bases in the sweep over the Golden Eagles. Stubbs also hit a grand slam in game two against UMC to blow the game open for the Wolves on their way to a sweep. Cornwell hit .583 for the Wolves as they completed the series sweep over Minnesota Crookston. In 12 at bats, Cornwell connected for a double, a home run, four RBI, and five runs scored. He also drew four walks to end with a .688 on base percentage. Alex's extra base hits notched him a .917 slugging percentage over the four games.
The Saints head into Wednesday's contest with a 7-29 record on the year. PC is led by Tony Hofman who is hitting .342 and has 10 RBI. Chad Ellingson leads the Saints with 18 RBI while Ryan Baldonado's two home runs on the season lead the team.
Upper Iowa is 8-9 overall and 1-3 in league play. The Peacocks have a high-powered offense which is led by two players hitting above .500 on the year. Tyler Adams leads UIU hitting .515 while Jose Aguirre is hitting at a .500 clip. Adams leads the team with 15 RBI while John Dobson has 14.
