The Northern State volleyball team returns home this weekend for two matches. The Wolves will host second-ranked Minnesota Duluth at 7 p.m. Friday and St. Cloud State will be the opponent at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Wolves (15-6, 8-5 NSIC) are coming off a perfect 3-0 week last week as they defeated Minot State, Minnesota, Crookston and Bemidji State all on the road. NSU defeated Minot and UMC in five sets and downed the Beavers in four. Kelsey Chambers recorded a career-high 26 kills in the win over the Golden Eagles while Jussy Tuscherer had a career-best 18 kills against BSU.

UMD enters the weekend on a 14-match winning streak, is 20-1 overall and is the only undefeated team in the NSIC with a perfect 13-0 mark. The Bulldogs use a balanced attack as they hit .297 as team on the season, a mark that ranks third in the nation. Mariah Scharf leads the team with 254 kills on the season while Maddy Siroin is second with 191. Setter Ashley Hinsch leads the country in assists per set averaging 13.25.

Northern defeated UMD in the two's only meeting last season, 3-1 up in Duluth. It marked just the second time in program history that NSU had defeated Duluth (48 meetings).

The Huskies are 7-14 overall on the season and 1-12 in NSIC play and have lost 11 in a row. SCSU is led by Kaitlin Doughty's 186 kills on the season. Setter Erin Ohlemann leads the team in attack percentage with a .294 clip and leads the team with 9.9 assists per set.

Northern swept St. Cloud earlier this season at the NSU Dacotah Bank Volleyball Classic in September. Chambers led the Wolves with 15 kills in the win and hit a season-best .520. Cari McGarvie added 10 kills and hit .500 for the match.

Friday's match against Duluth will be Northern's "Dig Pink" match as fans are encouraged to wear pink to the contest in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Both matches will also be broadcast live on ESPN Radio Aberdeen.
