Box Score 2 Kissimmee, F.L. - Dropping two for their final day in Florida the Northern State Softball team falls to 8-6 on the year with a 6-4 record for the trip.
In the first outing of the day the Wolves took on Walsh University of Ohio, falling with a score of 2-3. The Hawks moved to 5-2 on the year in the win. NSU scored each of their runs off of
Caitlin Moran singles in the top of the first and third innings.
As a team the women connected for four total hits, with
Eryn Yancy and
Jordin Novak each adding one to the mix.
Kami Smesmo slid to a 5-2 record in the circle giving up three earned runs on eight Hawk hits and striking out five.
After a one game break Northern took on the Tigers of Holy Family University losing 4-0. The Tigers scored all four runs off Freshmen
Debbie Evans in the top of the seventh inning.
A 0-0 tie through six complete gave Rachael Alligood, of HFU, the win giving up only one hit and stirking out five.
Macey Engel swang for the one Wolves hit on the day. Evans recorded four strikeouts in the game with giving up four earned runs.
Northern will see the field again when they travel to Wayne State to take on the Wildcats in a non-conference match up March 16th at 2 and 4 p.m.
