Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS - Playing in their final Metrodome games of the season, Northern State took on North Dakota State in a non-conference doubleheader, falling to the Bison by final scores of 5-2 and 16-2.
NSU slips to 7-7 overall on the season with the losses. NDSU climbs to 10-9 on the young season. The games marked the final non-conference games on the 2013 docket for the Wolves.
NDSU claimed the opener despite being out-hit by the Wolves 7-6. The Bison took advantage of a Northern State error in the bottom of the first to push a second run across the plate and take the early lead. NSU responded in kind in the top of the second, using an error and an RBI single by Tervor Sporrer to get on the board.
The Bison, however, countered with two more runs in the bottom of the second and another in the fifth while holding the Wolves ot just one run in the third to secure the win.

Clint Manzo was tagged with the loss for the Wolves, allowing four earned runs in four complete innings, striking out two.
Robbie Rocamora and
Buddy Traxler collected two hits apiece at the plate for the Wolves.
NDSU used a pair of big innings in Game 2 to complete the sweep, tacking up five runs in the second and seven in the fourth inning to take control of the game early. The Wolves scored one run in the third and fifth innings, but were unable to overcome, despite collecting 11 hits in the game.
Cameron Lehner led the charge, going 3-for-4 from the plate in the nightcap.
NSU will now turn its attention to conference play and NSIC-opening opponent Minnesota State. The four-game series is set to begin on Friday.
