Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University Women's Basketball team will begin the 2013-14 home season against Central Methodist University and Mayville State University this Saturday (11/23) and Monday (11/25). Game times are set for 2 p.m.and 6 p.m. respectively from Wachs Arena in the Barnett Center.

The Wolves are 2-0 on the year with wins coming against SD School of Mines (51-35)  and Black Hills State University (77-67). Keep an out for senior Alison Kusler who is nearing career 1,000 points, currently sitting at 843. The squad has already made some strong impressions with Rachel Krogman recording her first double-double of the season (15 pts. & 16 reb.), and freshman Paige Waytashek scoring a career high 24 poinst against BHSU in only her second start of her career.

NSU has never matched up with the Eagles of Central Methodist who are taking the NAIA by storm, out-scoring their opponents by an average of 26.6 points a game and racking up nearly 28 defensive rebounds. The Wolves however have a 17-4 record with the visiting Comets of Mayville State with their last meeting coming in 2007. The 2013-14 Comet squad leads the nation in the NAIA in assists per game (26), assist/turnover ratio (1.6), and scoring margin (+38.5).

Northern will then begin the conference season next Saturday on the road at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
